Unity In Harlem is dedicated to learning and teaching how to apply spiritual principles to all areas of our lives. Our goal is to experience more love, more joy, more health, more abundance and more overall satisfaction.

We meet each Sunday at 1pm and Tues evening at 6:00pm at Christ Center/Transfiguration – 74 W 126th St near Lenox Avenue, Harlem, NYC.

Our Sunday service, led by Rev. Carol Hunt, includes prayer, meditation and a special message from Carol or special invited guest speakers.

The Unity in Harlem Study Group also meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:00pm to study and discuss books by leading New Thought writers including Myrtle and Charles Fillmore, the founders of Unity.

Unity In Harlem has been around for more than forty years. Its first location was on 125th Street and the group, then called the Unity Universal Center, was led by Flash Washington. The group’s next minister was Mary Alice Brown and she was followed by Bea Copeland.

In 2002, Carol J. Hunt, Licensed Unity Teacher and protege of Eric Butterworth, in conjunction with current board member LeRoy Whethers and others, formed the Unity In Harlem.  The study group was officially incorporated as the Harlem Center for Practical Christianity, Inc. in May, 2008.  On January 1st, 2012, Unity In Harlem initiated Sunday services as a full-fledged Unity Center. In March 2016, Rev. Carol Hunt was ordained as a Unity minister and she continues her work as spiritual leader of this community.

Our history is only just beginning….
